Vice Chair - Mark Pawson

Mark Pawson

I have been governor at Hoylandswaine Primary School for 9 years, and was a former chair  for 3 years; I believe that a local association of governors is essential to provide governors with support, direction, skills and a means of sharing good practice; and to play a part in raising outcomes for Barnsley children.

Treasurer - Beverley Paddey

Beverley Paddey

Beverley has been a governor at Hoylandswaine Primary School since November 2012. She was Chair of the Governing Body for two years and now serves as the Committee Chair for Finance.
After a working life in retail with a focus on learning and development and representing employers' needs, Beverley felt that her skills and experiences could be utilised by volunteering her time to a local school.
Since becoming involved with Hoylandswaine Primary School she has been impressed with the dedication of staff to provide the best start in life that all children deserve.
There are many serious issues facing schools, not least the lack of funding, and she feels that this these can be championed by dedicated lobbyists working on behalf of all schools.

I believe that the Barnsley Governors Association can make a real difference. By working together with all Governors, Governing Bodies and stakeholders, everyone will eventually benefit from this interaction and we will be able to provide support for each other; thereby improving School Governance and help us all to raise the attainment, achievement and aspiration for all school students in Barnsley.
